I have taken a booking for a wedding i am going to do in may, she wants me from 7pm till midnight, she also said that she has another dj during the day as she has found that it is cheaper for her to have 2 dj's than pay for 1 all day and night.

This is a first for me, any body else found this?

I was asked about something similar last year. Not heard of since...until now!
I'd be happy to perform with another DJ. Don't bother me. Some people book a hotel venue for a reception and go on to another! laugh.gif
I explained to the enquirer that working with another DJ would benefit their guests, etc far better if

a) their marquee was a lot bigger!
b) that both 'DJs' had a client playlist to work from, ideally not the same list
c) that PA hire was an additional service
d) my standing time was a condition of contract.

What they wanted was for one of the DJs to supply one rig, so one DJ could have a rest while the other performed.....rolleyes.gif

The client declined my service.

If they want someone else during the day, fine! Probably better to have a DJ than leaving it to a member of staff playing a multi-cd system thats had hundreds of careful users....and jumps all over the place!

What he / she charges during the day is not a concern. It's what you offer as a service - focus on that, and make it the best night of their lives! thumbup.gif

Was it made clear whather this was for 2 DJs or 2 Mobiles? Or was the expectancy that you would use the other DJs kit?

I'm not sure whether I'd like that, either as the first DJ (supplying) or the second DJ (using)!!!!!

same here..

Also if your the first DJ but supplying the kit do you charge double anyways because you still have to be there? or if your the second DJ but still supplying kit I guess you have to be there early. What sort of contingency do you have should the other DJ blow your kit up or uses it in a manner your not happy with do you have the power of veto to remove him from your kit?

To many problems could arrise from this. Of cause if your a member of The DJ@ then you have £10,000,000 Dry Hire cover. For £75 this is well worth it if your going to some one elses kit.....

odd sort of arrangment really to have 2 DJ's. Ivo of people are spending on a wedding, the savings must be minimal here.
