I use a top of the range Dell laptop for my DJing exploits but I recently up greaded Helens DJ laptop and noticed that all the laptops today come with the second screen VGA but no way of securing the plug with the screws. This is such a naff move by the manufactures as the D style plug is not the most solid of fits on its own and good VGA cable is quite heavey.
How do you guys combat this problem and have you noticed this trend also?

a lot are also going HDMI only too bad moves but all in an aid to reduce price and size...I totally agree this is a naff move.
with the trend for cheaper and thinner and smaller screen laptops designed for what most home users use laptops for i.e. facebook, you tube ,twitter, games, emails etc. the market for a product that does what we want it to do will dwindle leaving the choices even more limited in the future IMHO.
Unfortunately unlike full size PC's not many companies make custom laptops for customers... tailor made for what we want ...and the ones that do ,well you have to pay a pretty penny for the privilege.
VGA without screws are just wrong in my book but a sign of the ever present cost cutting by manufacturers.
