Not sure if you have, but have you read any of the guides here like this one?

I can not say anything negative about your disco kit. I'd advise that if you intend to mobile dj, many venues do not like / permit the use of smoke machines in case the venue smoke alarm is set off!
Venues may be penalised if there are too many false alarms you see!
Strobe lighting can be a fun effect, but keep in mind that there is always the chance a guest at a party may have epilepsy - the strobe effect may trigger a seizure.

PS - Where's your radio mic?!

Yes, I have given that a quick read. I also knew about the strobe light, I do ask before using it. I actually didn't know a smoke machine can set off smoke alarms, even tho it seems pretty obvious. :p I will make sure I leave a window open. :)

Looks good to me. I especially like the lead at the bottom, and am thinking about buying one of these myself.

How times have changed... When I was 15 I had two danset type record players in my bedroom and used to play one while the other I would turn down the volume press my ear to the bilt in mono speaker and cue the record up then turn the volume back up to cross fade.

I use a cd mix 3 and it's been a great bit of kit, as I don't do any fancy mixing and just play the choons it works fine, never skips and does what it says on the box - Good Luck

Those headphones will last you about a week. I had some headphones come free with my CD Mix 1 when I first started and they fell apart after 1 gig.

maybe a couple of normal disco lights? Forget the Strobe. Consider the cheap LED Lighting on the market now. Also forget Maplin, they arent as cheap as you think they are. Check out your local DJ Shop

equipment is all ways a personal choice especially when we are limited to a budget,you will all ways find a reaction from some of the contributors about this light or that microphone,but in the end its your choice and your choice alone that counts,,,
wish you good hunting in the future as you build up your gigs,its nice to see young blood in the industry and at your age you are possibly well placed to weather the economical down turn we are experiencing at the moment.

I also started DJ at 15 doing the sort of parties which you are doing.

The set-up is ok and you can/will upgrade when money permits.

I do plan on upgrading as I progress through the years. :p

It's a good first set-up. For now don't even give equipment another thought, just focus of getting better at what you do. When that happens, so will the extra gigs, which generate the extra cash, that allow you to buy the shiny toys with the big badges. Kit doesn't make a DJ, keep working with what you have, keep striving to get better, and then buy the superstar gear when you know you're good enough.

let's start with the sound,have you thought about back up in case anything goes wrong on the night very important no sound no party, an ipod or portable dvd players or even cheap dvd player will do as playout devices.the t max lights i recomend you replace as soon as possible my son had some(he started at 15 just like you) they are not brilliant even in an living room he still has his set in the shed (must put them on ebay used once any offers ),you will need a lighting switch pack as well because they have no fans in them so should not be left on for long periods of time.when you are ready to upgrade post on here what you are looking at before you buy and you will get some good advice on what is good and what is not so good.
