Ok, this may sound really bad but I'm only 15 and I want to start now, as I move through the years onto a job I do plan on upgrading these...
I currently use a Laptop with VirtualDJ linked up to a bad surround sound control box with two emie speakers, the control box limits the sound which is annoying but without it, I can't get them to plus into the laptop. (Works as an amp).
I also use a T-Max 6, Stobe, Smoke Machine and obviously a T-Bar, not brilliant but I only have done two house parties so it's ok for that, I guess.
Anyway, I plan on saving up and getting new speakers/amp and a mixer.
I am going to be buying a Dual CD Player with Mixer (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35557) for my birthday and then saving up for the amp/speakers.
Anyone have any suggestions on what amp/speakers to buy? Remember, I'm only 15 so I don't have the biggest budget although if someone has a big bargain somewhere, I will save up. :p

What type of parties do you intend doing? If it is mainly house parties, you won't want anything too powerful.
Active/powered speakers would probably be the most cost effective (speakers with the amps built in).
The Soundlab actives sound pretty good e.g. 12"
http://www.djkit.co.uk/product.php?id=1174&cat=237 or if you can stretch to it, the 15"
http://www.djkit.co.uk/product.php?id=1175&cat=237You may find them cheaper elsewhere, they were just the first links I found.
Also keep an eye out at Whybuynew for the CD Decks
http://www.whybuynew.co.uk/CD-Mix1-Numark-...ixing-Unit.html. Most of the equipment is brand new ex demo or just has damaged packing. The same one you are looking at is £149.00 from there (they are near where I live so can vouch for them being an okay company to deal with).

What AMP will work with that CD Mixer? I just purchased it. :) I would prefer one from eBay UK website, if possible.
