Sorry to rain on your parade mp3djuk, but pcdj fx is a pile of crap. Gav don't go anywhere near it. It is full of bugs and should be avoided at all costs.
You'll be hard-pressed to find one DJ (who's not employed by PCDJ) to say a good word about PCDJ FX!

If PCDJ FX is this bad, any idea what's a good one to go for ??? 533.gif
I’m playing around with BPM 4.2 at the moment on my laptop, but ideally I would like something that can use the left & right channels separately. (Left cannel for left player & right channel for right player) that way I can take these into my mixer using two channels to fade across a lot easier than having to use the mouse all the time.
Any suggestions ?? notworthy.gif

I use BPM Studio 4.2 and you are able to use the left & right channels seperately.
I use the controller that comes with it: ALCAtech controller
I've been using BPM for over 2 years and have found it to be very good, however I'd advise that you wait until the new year before deciding on any dj software as there are a lot of rumours around about a new dj software being released in January which is supposed to be superb. It's been designed by the same guy that originally designed PCDJ but he has now left that company. I have no idea as to the name of it yet or the exact release date, but will post more info when i have it.

Aha so that’s my problem I’m only playing with the software not the hardware! oops.gif
Looking at the prices of the RCP-1001 or RCP-2001, I think I will have to wait until New Years Eve comes at least once a week. tongue.gif

Me thinks I'll put that idea on hold for a while. sadwalk.gif

I purchased the PCDJ FX software at Plasa, looking forward to all the 'added' features since PCDJ Pro was released.

On first glances, yeah it 'appears' to be what it professes.....but I agree with Eskie, it's bug-ridden and unreliable for a 'gig'. (C-R-A-P-P-Y!)

The Dac2 controller is very good with the software - slightly better in principle than with PCDJ, however, you only gain a real advantage with setting loops.

The screen 'layout' is cramed and 'small'.
At Plasa, the distributors were using a large screen to display the 'excellent' features of PCDJFX - not for the selling point...it was too bleeding small to show on a 15" or 17" monitor!!!!
In other words, it wouldn't be all that reliable to view in a gig environment unless you had 20/20 vision and your laptop set at head height!!!

I used PCDJFX once, and quickly returned to PCDJ Pro as it was more reliable and 'proven' in a gig environment.

PCDJFX - unreliable for gigs, but is ok to 'mix at home' with and to create blinding mix's, but, if I was fair in praise, the only major aspect of the software I was really impressed with was the Master Tempo feature - mp3 pitch control without sounding like pinky and perky!!! Impressive.

Also, the distribution arm in the UK have had problems with registration on their products.
Some people have 'lost' any support or 'free downloads' from the distributor because they registered with the US main site.
Please check the version (release) of software you purchased before you register!

Must admit that what has been said above is true, I am a confirmed PCDJ user and find it great, have been playing around with PCDJ FX and find that you need the mama of all PC's (power and memory wise) to make it run correctly. 533.gif

The display on a 15 or 17 inch monitor looks crowded and it is difficult to read, also a lot of the playing about has to be done by a mouse, and if you've read prev posts from me on PCDJ I love the idea of all the important controls being operated by the keyboard. sleep1.gif

PCDJ would do better to lay FX to rest and update PCDJ to have the tempo adjust, which is a great bit of kit within FX, but as for all the effects buttons kill etc. it is a classic case of a bit of kit being designed by a Teflon head instead of a working Jock!! nono.gif
