AMERICAN DJ MISTER KOOL - DRY ICE EFFECT FOG MACHINE
Mr Kool

I don't have much luck with these things.... however this caught my eye!

Do you reckon it will work exactly like it say's on the Tin ?
Has anyone used this (or similar) ?
Do you know of any similar products ?

Thanks!

Was toying with the idea of one of these but wondered if the fog lifted when it reaches room temp and sets alarms off.

any ideas?

ive been looking for a low lying fog machine for my ressi on friday(halloween).
I went to my local dj store to price one up and they had sold out of the american dj machine you have mentioned, they sell them for £109 and sold all 20 machines in a week. The chaps at this store are good friends of mine and really rate the mr cool! AMAZING machine for the price but i was too late, no more deliverys for 2 weeks. 014.gif

the smoke once warm will lift again! its just normal smoke fluid put through ice! once cooled it heats back up after a few mins and rises up! i was asked for one for last halloween! so i made one worked just aswell as a bought one just don't look as nice! but hide it behind your gear and it will creep around all your stuff of hide it under a table!

what you need!
smoke machine
cool box
2 inch lenth of tubing the type thats hooks to your kitchen sink! about £2 from b&q
a 45 degree bend
whole saw!

if you want to see one work got to youtube and type in "homemade low fogger"

it took me about 1/2 an hour!

I saw the launch of these at the PLASA show, I think it was Antari..I remember they placed cans of Coke in the ice reservoir of their biggest machines.

They do work but, yes, the smoke does lift quite quickly.

if you want it to sit on the floor its needs dry ice? but im think you have to have training to use it as it can be very dangerous! dont hold me to that i maybe wrong!

Dry ice is actually corrosive and needs a special cert to use it.Its v hard to obtain too.

Dry ice isn't corrosive, but it is potentially hazardous, and if used in an enclosed environment you need to monitor oxygen levels. See 'Wiki' text below:

Although useful in a number of contexts, dry ice can cause severe skin damage through cold burns. It is especially dangerous because dry ice produces a lot of fog, which can make it hard to see exactly where the dry ice is. Generally, airline passengers are not permitted to bring packages containing dry ice into an airplane cabin.

Dry ice also evaporates in large quantities of carbon dioxide gas, which could displace oxygen containing air and pose a danger of asphyxiation.

i made one from the biggest coolbox i could find, filled with ice, then a CO2 extinguisher fired into it 5 mins before showtime (out the back as they are really loud!!) lasted all night.
