Does anyone use Yellow Pages or Yell.com. I`ve had a quote of £119 for a year (11.90 per month for ten months). Is this a good idea? Apparently, I get a three line advert in the book and a standard place on the web site.

Is this worth it?

Any experiences?

I've been advised against Yellow Pages. Apparently they just keep sending you more and more junk mail asking you to upgrage to their "next better" category.
I have to say that I've had clients come to me because of my free advert in the yellow pages, so I'm not considering others. One argument could be that the money I save on not advertising, I can pass on the saving to clients, although I know it doens't make much, althought £5/£10 cheaper could help you secure a booking.

Never used yellow pages but too be honest I dont really advertise as all the bookings I want come from my residency. Ive heard, how true it is i dont know, that many people booking through yellow pages tend to be price matching and will more often than not book with the just about the lowest quote.

If someone calls and says 'How much is a disco' you know it has come from the YP, firstly they are looking for cheapness and secondly they will nearly always tell you how much they have been quoted already to try and get you to beat that price, so ALWAYS stick to your pricings, anyway if I called my local car dealer and asked how much a car is, they wouldn't say £5995 straightaway without knowing what I wanted would they, ring up a Pizza takeaway and ask how much a pizza is, I bet you get laughed at
