this old heart of mine = isley bros

hold back the night = trammps

apart from that i reckon you will do it standing on yer head.

use the two types of genres as a base for a bit of one upmanship with the two different "factions"

like the breakdancers used to do.

pit them against each other in the dance stakes and finish off with the really cheesy usual stuff they can all make fools of theirselves to.

i fancy this gig meself.

p.s.

i am from bristol too. my aunt lived in thornbury for years.

What is the bad idea?

The songs on the lists are pretty reasonable, certainly the 80s list are all good floor fillers.

heres what id do, get the speeches, cake cutting etc done before half 9, then just use easy listening quiet music from both ages. then id start with the old stuff first then end on the new stuff,

What a co-incidence.

Tonight I am doing a 50th for the dad & tomorrow Paul is doing the son's 18th!!! 2 different venues and obviously not the same group of people as the O/P.

Well, it went OK in the end!! Ive just got back, the gaffer tipped me an extra £20 because it went so well! I used the play lists as a guide, i played most of the the newer stuff but played some better older stuff, it went down a treat!!

Im so pumped i cant wait for my next gig now!! Its another 18th and the kid was there tonight!
