I am in a quandry - Although I play it a lot, I can never find what I think is the right song to follow it with. Have tried lots of stuff but am never happy.
Last night I even ended up following it with Here comes my baby by The Mavericks as well. It's bad when you have to play 2 by the same artist.
So come on guys help me out here.
What are your follow up songs?

I don't necassarily see two songs by the same artiste as bad, especially if they are popular tunes. I often go from "man I feel like a woman" into "Dance the night away" and often wonder what next, but usually go into something like "La vida Loca". When it was popular I would also have used "rock DJ".
Thats entertainment

Danno, you play the songs I follow it with, but it seems like you need a country one of the same ilk (my opinion anyway).
Never tried Mambo No5, but my well be worth a whirl.
Can see you can't hurry love working, but I'd use Valerie elsewhere in the evening I think.
Galway girl possibly, but I'm not sure of the appeal. I did think of trying Boot Scootin' Boogie by Brooks & Dunn or Small Town Saturday Night, and felt the same about the appeal of the songs
If I play it tonight, I'll try Mambo I think & see how it works.
Thank guys.
Anyone else have an opinion?

S Club 7 - Reach is also a good one, and you can then mix nicely into Mambo No 5... obviously needs to be a bit of a cheesy crowd though..

or is that a different track?

I think it's the same. It goes down very well with an older type audience only. Must play it about 10 times a year.

I 99% of the time play La Bamba by Los Lobos...
Have to have it a little bit louder than Dance the night and 99% of the time it works....

Here Comes My Baby is a great song but the Mavericks version is shocking, stick with the classic Cat Stevens version, it get a surprisingly good reaction when I play it.
As for the country cheese-fest, you can't go wrong with this little 3some:
Hillbilly Rock - Woolpackers
5,6,7,8 - Steps (Someone asked me for 1,2,3,4 by Steps last week!!!)
Cotton Eye Joe - Rednex
Hermes House Band, Billy Ray Cyrus, Dolly Parton etc can all be thrown in to the mix if it's going well but those 3 never fail to get the boots scootin!
