Hi all, I've just got myself a new Denon HD2500 and need to get it loaded and working, I've downloaded the latest DMM software (version 123) onto my old Dell laptop which is running XP. My mp3 music files are stored on a external HDD (250 GB) which is half full, my Dell does not have much free space available, maybe about 15 GB or so, I do have a second laptop running Vista which has around 50 GB space free, this could be used if needed.
My first question is,
#1- Since the HD player will not have the latest firmware installed on it, should I update this first, before transferring any mp3's to it?
#2 - When I create a database, does DMM just modify the mp3's while they remain in their current location (ex HDD) or do they need to be put into a different location either before or after they are modified by DMM?
#3 Should I clean up the ex HDD of unwanted/duplicated mp3's before I create a database or after?
#4 Does anyone have any tips that will help?
As you may have guessed, I'm not techie type so please bear this in mind if you choose to reply.
Thanks.

yes first update the Firmware...

no the software does not touch your MP3s it just makes a list of what they are and where to find them and puts it in a file of its own.

duplicats don't mater but save the space if you need it for more music and get rid of them.

call me if you need some help phone numer is on my web site.
