Can anyone recommend good 'modern' ie less than 5 year-old remixes of 70's disco favourites..ie those suitable for programming into a 'disco hour' at a commercial night venue. I'm thinking in the vein of Almighty-style tracks but remixed rather than by cover artiste.

Unless they have been remixed using Mastermix or DMC, then the vast majority of 70's disco tracks were heavily remixed during the first half of the 80's. I doubt whether any punter could tell the difference when they were remixed.

Yeah, but alot of these sound cheesy to me (with lots of Fairlight sampling and stuttering without much creative addition) and the BPM's are a little slow for today's clubbers.

Was looking for stuff along the lines of Love to Infinity or Freemasons, Stonebridge etc.

Solitaire - You got the love

EW&F - September (Phats & Small Mix)

Blondie vs. Edison - Heart Of Glass

Loleatta Holloway - Love Sensation '08 (can't remember who the remix is by..)

ah ok, I was considering stuff like Sister Sledge 'Lost in Music' 1984 12 inch remix or Tavares 'Heaven must be missing and Angel' or The Real thing ' Can you feel the force'. All very good 1980's remixes.
