We are about 7 months into the year now, and I have spent much of this doing 60th Birthday parties and weddings.

Useful to run through what the popular general tracks are so far for 2008, to recheck whether any of us are missing out on the popular stuff
Rapmeister

Basshunter - Now your'e gone
Amy Winehouse - Valerie

jamesmurphy
I've had less requests for new stuff this year than ever. Even in my Thursday residency I'm rarely getting asked for anything new.
It seems to me that there's an 80s resurgence.
deejaymitch
All Summer Long - Kid Rock is definitely my commercial song of 2008 so far. I've been ramming it down people's throats for a while now and they are loving it.
Gary (GDK)
Nickelback - Rockstar
Scooter - Jumping All Over The World
In the last couple of weeks in schools has being asked for non-stop!

i'm finding the same all the old 80s and early 90s tracks are popular at the moment
loving it though as its all my years
jamesmurphy
Personally I think that this year has produced very little that has been worthy of playing at a disco and that's why I think we're getting a lot more oldies requested
kenny wisdom
Eric Prydz - "Pjanoo" is pretty fab.
Dynamicdiscos

Haha.....you put that in as a joke right......LOL

No - I don't think he did.
I've been asked for this tripe more in recent weeks than when it was first unleased.

When - oh when - is it going to die? sad.gif

But no, there's very little this year to make a mark.
Calvin Harris is reasonably good, and I like the Madonna 'Give It To Me', although I don't get any requests for it, oddly enough.

Crank that? Soulja boy? Worst bloody tune i have ever heard to be honest. Have played it as a request, would never ever play it off my own back. Rubbish, dance floor emptier, you need to be a hoodie wearer to listen to it. Why,why, why, why????

Sorry about that.

Dont seem to remember anyone asking year of release in this thread.
Robster
As the title of this thread Popular Floor Fillers Of 2008 i can see where this is implied and where the ambiguity may lie
we all know the classic floor fillers and i get the feeling this was a thread started about what new this year (from the "7 months in" comment on the original post) and works as a floor filler.

for me its
Madonna-Give it to me
Dizzee Rascal - Come dance with me
Basshunter - All I ever wanted
September - Cry for you
Adele-Hometown glory( the high contrast remix)
Freemasons - When You Touch Me
Black and Gold-sam sparro

yourweddingdisco
Im surprised none of you have mentioned Rihannas - Please dont stop the music.

That seems to still be popular.
NRG Roadshow
Im not actually sure whether the original post was in fact clear on if it had to be released in 2008 to be eligable for the thread.

I understood it to mean released in 2008, but others may see it differently.

For example, due to the popularity of the film.......Mamma Mia is getting a new lease of life on my dancefloors in 2008, so does it count for this thread?

Yep we are talking about releases in 2008 as opposed to old classics coming back to life.
