Hi all,

I've just had a customer ask if I can play "something to Jitterbug to" for some relatives who Jitterbug, at a wedding in a few weeks.

As far I know the Jitterbug is pre-rock and roll 40's / 50's.

Can anyone suggest a handfull of Jitterbug classics. If someone can point me in the right direction, it may be something I already have.

"The dance to the greatest dance music of all time, Swing! Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Glen Miller. This partner dance can be wild and spontaneous or cool and sophisticated but never predictable.
During the 1920’s Lindy Hop was the dance of black American dance halls which spread across the world in the late 1930’s and 40’s. Also known as ‘Swing dancing’ and ‘the Jitterbug’, this is the dance that GI’s used to sweep the English girls off their feet, the dance that celebrated the big band sound of WW2".

The Andrews Sisters had come to mind, but I wasn't sure if that was to early, so thanks for the confirmation.

I did mix the Andrews Sisters out of Candyman at an event last year, so I know they go well together. I'll probably try it the way around you suggest, as it would be a good bridge back into more modern music.

Thanks for the suggestions. As I have quite a few of those, I'll print this list off in case they end up wanting quite a few tunes. I guess the earliest tracks are the most authentic.

Another that I don't have. I'll investigate and see if worth adding to my collection.

Thanks also to Big MC Ben and Superstar DJ for your suggestions. I'd rather keep it as authentic as possible, but these may be good bridges back to more modern music.
