I think it is - I started a similar topic on this last year Here and it seemed that Hugo Duncan was to blame (BBC NI Radio)

Thankfully, for me anyhow, the popularity of this tune was short lived although I have been asked for it once this year (compared to almost every event last summer) scared.gif

it just wont go away for me still regularly get asked for it !!! still dont have it lol

i just never could get into it also the gallway girl ( magners ad ) dont have it either

Eazy, I think I owe you an apology. I'm probably responsible for the Cynthia craze around the venues we work in. I really overplayed it for ages. I'm so sick of it now but still get loads of requests.

As for Galway Girl, I have the Steve Earl version (Magners ad) and the Mundy version (far better). I'm gettin loads of requests for that too but it's a dour song.
