I would really appreciate it if someone could give me advice on pairing the following two items up -

I have just purchased a second hand pair of speakers -
SOUNDLAB RG 400P MKII - 400 WATT SPEAKERS
(200 watts (rms) per cabinet)

I have a backup Amp -
Prosound Power Amp 800
Specifications 4Ω stereo: 2 x 300Wrms 8Ω stereo: 2 x 150Wrms 8Ω bridged: 1 x 400Wrms Max power: 800Wmax @ 8Ω Frequency range: 20Hz - 20kHz S/N ratio: >90dB THD: >0.5% : >0.1% Dimensions: 485(w) x 88(h) x 400(d) mm (inc. handles) 19 x 2U x 9 Weight: 14kg Connections Output: 3 x Speakon Input: 2 x &quarter;inch Jack (unbalanced) 2 x XLR (balanced)

Will they be Ok together or is the Amp to powerful?

The aim of my game is to have a smaller setup for the influx of Kids Discos i am doing!
Cheers

im guessing that the soundlabs are 8ohm 200 watt RMS.. this makes your amp too small for the speakers..

however it will work fine.. just dont push your amp to the point of cliping as you will cook the voice coils on the sound labs...

Cheers for that DJ Marky Marc
