...repeat requests of the same track have you had on one night?
Was once asked to play Nelly The Elephant (Toy Dolls) 5 times.

I think the worst was a pub gig, Rihanna Umbrella being asked for about a dozen times by two young girls (about 10 yr olds) while their parents were getting bladdered in the beer garden.

At a 50th party in the winter - Valerie -Mark Ronson & Amy Wino.
7 times. Didn't want to play it over & over, but client said do it, so did, but after 7 times even the client agreed enough is enough.
Filled the floor each time though.
Also I mentioned over the mic that this isn't the only record I've got, it just seems very popular tonight!

Most I can think of at the moment is 3 times for Kaiser Chiefs Ruby last year.

It's a rule of mime not to play the same track more than once unless its sufficiently popular and theres been a long gap between the first play and the second play that evening. Personally I don't think I 'd want to play anything more than twice - there are so many other tracks to choose from - plus it could look kind of desperate.

Ditto that - I hate playing any track more than once at a function. If I get absolutely overwhelmed by requests (in different handwritting, or from different mobile numbers sms/txt) then I will play a track a 2nd time that night but usually near the end, not just a few minutes later than the first play.
More commonly however, if I'm playing a track and its getting considerable positive audience reaction, I'll add a seamless loop to it, thereby extending it to give the crowd their fill of the track until the positive reaction fades.

Trust me, I didn't want to play Valerie 7 times!
To be fair, I will rarely play a song twice. Sometimes though, it's easier to play the request when you're getting bombarded by different people, especially when the client is one of them.

The question is how many times has it been requested in one night, not played.
As far as being played I would guess twice is a maximum, with a long period between each play.

I got asked to play "Who let the Dogs out" last friday - couldn't find it at first. But it got such a great reaction, esp when you can whack the fader down during the 'who who who who...'
Was asked to play it again (twice), but didnt! Once is enough!
I've also had someone come up to me asking me to play a song, which was actually playing at the time... Makes you wonder if they're listening or its just an automatic trigger / reminded of the song!
