i have a couple of cheapo scanners i got from maplins last year. one of them is now powering up and the motoers are working but the bulb is coming on for about a second or two then going off.
bulb seems fine elements ok etc.
any ideas what it could be anyone. if it a part i wont replace it as the thing was only 70.00 but the 2 of them work together and look pretty good in a small pub.
shame if it is bust really.
cheers

Hi Wendy or is it Sandy Sounds lol...
Are they still under Gtee from Maplins could you take them back.. Mind you from your post on the other forum I think you said you took one apart so might have invalidated your Gtee

Hmmn sounds a bit of an odd problem that. Have you tried re-seating the bulb (in case of poor contact / come loose whilst in transit).
Not sure if the unit(s) you have, have some kinda internal trip. If I think its the light that I know it might be (SSC-2's?), I wonder if the internal PSU could potentially trip out (I think I read somewhere about the PSU's being switch mode or at least prone to failure ?).

It would help us if you told us what light effects they are.
