I have an Acme HP-2 Hazer which has worked fine for a good few months now but on Sunday when I pressed the button, nothing happened. I checked the fluid level and it was on about half full (or half empty). I then tipped it forward and it began working, kept it level, nothing, tipped foward, working, so I rested the back against the spar of my speaker stand and it worked fine all night, but surely if there's half a tank of fluid, it should work normally without having to be tilted, so any ideas???

Is this the sort of machine that has the inlet pipe stuck through the lid of the fluid container? If so, make sure the pipe hasn't been pushed so far into the container that it's curled round and is now sticking above the fluid surface again.
Can't think of anything else unless you're putting some strain on a bad joint somewhere by tilting it.

Good few months...how old is it?
Sounds like its just packing up...maybe time to get a new one.

I'd also check inside the fluid container. Mine has a sensor that checks there is actually fluid in...sometimes this gets stuck, making the machine think there is no fluid in, hence it doesn't pump the fluid through. If it works on a tilt, then this sensor sounds like its sticking...give it a push with a wooden stick!

I tried to see if the float was sticking but it didn't seem to make any difference. I was playing about with the jack input from the controller and if I pushed then fully result jack in almost completely in, I guess shorting the two connections on then socket, the machine worked perfectly, although pushing the jack plug in fully stopped it. Now that would make me think that it was the controller but all the lights are working and flashing when they are supposed to, so any suggestions?
