A few mentions Of Tammy Wynette's D.I.V.O.R.C.E up there.
Am I the only one to see the irony in that it was the follow up to her "Stand By Your Man".
Nice to see you didn't mean it for the long term Tammy.
Anyway, back to the plot:

Nice to see you didn't mean it for the long term Tammy.
Anyway, back to the plot:
Gladys Knight & The Pips - Baby Don't Change Your Mind
Tammy was married to Geroge Jones who turned in to a drunk and a wife beater the first song Stand by your man was when she forgave him, and was saying to the world that she wanted to stand by her man with all his faults
"You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doing things that you don't understand
But if you love him you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh be proud of him
'Cause after all he's just a man".
The second song DIVORCE is the sadness she felt in having to leave and divorce the man she loved but could not stand to be with him any more... Its a song of bitterness and regret and the harm that a divorce can do to the whole of the family
"Our D.I.V.O.R.C.E becomes final today
Me and little J.O.E will be goin' away
I love you both and it will be pure H.E double L for me
Oh, I wish that we could stop this D.I.V.O.R.C.E."
Country music is not as simple as people first think and most is written by people who have experienced or lived what they are writing about.

Yeah, I know what you mean.
Here's one, sung with feeling:
Our little dog is six years old, and he's smart as any damn kid.
But when you mention the V.E.T. he damn near flips his lid.
Words like S.H.O.T. shot or W.O.R.M. worm,
These are words which make him S.Q.U.I.R.M. squirm.
His Q.U.A.R.A.N.T.I.N.E starts today,
Because he bit the V.E.T. and then he ran away.
He caused me and my wife to have a big fight, and then, both of them bit me.
And that's why I am gonnae get a D.I.V.O.R.C.E.

I supposed - it could have been in anticipation for the eve of the wedding... they may both have been "putting a donk on it"
