just wondering can you link one of these up to a standard acme dynamo via a dmx cable as they are different lights what will happen?

In what way are you trying to control it?
All DMX lights can be linked together (that is the idea of DMX) however if you are trying to control one from the other (master/slave) then it wont work. For the master/slave to work the lights need to have all the same DMX address and assignments matching.

If you have them linked together but are using a DMX controller and it has been set up right then you can get them to do similar things (if they are capable of doing similar).

thought so thanks, the shop sent the wrong one by mistake so will be changing it for an identical one so can run them in master slave mode,
