No idea about the speakers but speaking as a friend of Chris' for the last few years, I thinked he'd be P****d off to see you linking to a competitor.

For 1 its was not a link seeing as the auction has ended and i have brought quite a lot from chris over the last few weeks and we are alowed to ask for opinions on eqipment. is this ok now
McCardle
Don't have a go at me, I'm just looking out for the interests of Chris, since he obviously isn't around. If you checked out the guy's other auctions you'd find that he's a sound & lighting distributor just like Chris and it was the statement on the auction which said we bought 30 of these.... which led me to the impression that the guy was a trader. I'm not a moderator so there is nothing I can do about it, although I did hit the report to admin link.

No problems kev! The best way to find out if they are any good is to listen to them! As they are back up im sure they will be fine - x
kazzachi
Kev has not mentioned any supplier whatsoever so there is absolutely no problem here - DJKray is more than aware of the posting rules and has not broken any rules in asking for the opinion of other members for his equipment.... I havent seen any link to any supplier and therefore there is nothing wrong here.

Seeing as i am a Moderator you could have just pm me about it instead of bothering chris.

cheers Kazz but it does seem like i was in the wrong as i posted the link upto to the ebay page, the item had ended so nobody could bid but i had not checked the sellers other items and he did have a pair of them for sale. but it was a honest mistake. as i to consider chris a friend and would never knowingly harm him or his buisness.
kazzachi
kev - dont worry about it - we all know that you would have edited it yourself once you had realised that the auction was offering two sets of speakers.... crispy knows - we know - so no harm done mate
paula
I dont see any link either and if there has been and it's been edited then it was probaly an over sight, all us moderators are fully aware of the forum rules and would not intentionally go out and break them! I think reporting the post immdeiately was a bit unfair.
I'm thinking this was an ebay auction, am I right? and we've had plebtly of links back to ebay before.
I just sold 8 sets of lights on ebay, does that make me a supplier? NO!

Personally, I would go for speakers with speakon connectors.

I've seen pictures of speakers like that and they are 300W MAX!!! not RMS, these maybe different, butt they look like the soundlab speakers.

I would always steer clear of any full range/top end speakers that do not use a compression driver for the treble. Dont go for any that use horns, piezos or tweeters. The quality is pretty bad.

You are correct and i don't think i will buy them now thanks for the comments thumbup.gif but i am still looking for a decent sounding pair of smaller speakers not too heavy as a spare pair or to use in smaller halls at the moment i use hisis 2 from pevey

Hi Kray!!!

For lightweight powerfull speakers, I use EV's - but they are not everyone's cup of tea.

Have you seen the 'flat' speakers that can be put on poles? I think the power is 'lower' (100-200Watts) but, they can also be 'hung' on a wall, and the storage capacity in the motor is excellent.
