hi
i want something what has a rock theme but has an element of pop into it as well
Hmmm, sort of "Bat out of hell" but, softer, more Pop-y.
How about:
"Malt Loaf"
The naming of yourself or your show can be really important, if you're planning to stay DJ'ing for any significant duration, or credibility, to a certain degree.
For example: "DJ Odd-socks", might be fine for a once a month gig down at the local youth club, spanning 18 months, but would such a name give a potential bride & groom a positive or negative perception of you?
If you're thinking of making a big go of it, making a career, or signifcant business or sideline out of playing music to people, then keeping the same name for you/your show will be a good thing...as the longer that a certain name gets "banded about" (hopefully in a positive way), the better perceptions of your services will slowly build eg: "Oh yeah....I've 'eard of 'em a few years back..."
If you end up feeling uncomfortable about your stage name suitability and end up changing it every couple of years, you'll lose that familiarity build-up.
Similarly, I've known some clients who have been put off of other DJs as they felt the non-person named businesses would be less egotistical - eg: "Night Sounds" or "The Music Machine Roadshow" or "Groovy Sounds Disco" etc...were all less likely to spend all night on the mic than "DJ Dave Rock" or "MC Mega Groover" etc,etc...
