Hmmm, sort of "Bat out of hell" but, softer, more Pop-y.

How about:

"Malt Loaf" laugh.gif

The naming of yourself or your show can be really important, if you're planning to stay DJ'ing for any significant duration, or credibility, to a certain degree.

For example: "DJ Odd-socks", might be fine for a once a month gig down at the local youth club, spanning 18 months, but would such a name give a potential bride & groom a positive or negative perception of you?

If you're thinking of making a big go of it, making a career, or signifcant business or sideline out of playing music to people, then keeping the same name for you/your show will be a good thing...as the longer that a certain name gets "banded about" (hopefully in a positive way), the better perceptions of your services will slowly build eg: "Oh yeah....I've 'eard of 'em a few years back..."

If you end up feeling uncomfortable about your stage name suitability and end up changing it every couple of years, you'll lose that familiarity build-up.

Similarly, I've known some clients who have been put off of other DJs as they felt the non-person named businesses would be less egotistical - eg: "Night Sounds" or "The Music Machine Roadshow" or "Groovy Sounds Disco" etc...were all less likely to spend all night on the mic than "DJ Dave Rock" or "MC Mega Groover" etc,etc...

I have named my Disco Buisness after a song by James (The Band) called Lose Control, I thought this would be better than 'Sit Down Disco' cos people may have thought they sit down instead of Dance 9.gif .

Anyway you could think of a Favourite song maybe or Band that has a Disco sounding name.

Good Luck thumbup.gif

My disco is "Prism Entertainments".
The Prism part of it is that for a long time I had a business called "Prism Electronics" and in a way it is associated with that, the Prism is also part of my interest in lasers.
I chose Entertainments rather than Disco because I also offer a karaoke service.

Ok....This could be fun.

Choosing a Stage Name...an interesting formula I heard yonks ago....may work for you....

If you have read this....post yours anyway please .....Good or bad....

Take the name of the first pet you ever had.........
And the name of the first street you ever lived in MINUS the second word....(i.e Windsor Road....just use Windsor).

Put them together for your stage name.

Mines not a great one....yours maybe??

I had a cat called Fancy (yes I know) and I lived in Post Street ....hence....FANCY POST....lol

I thought that was pornstar names.

I once lived on Bag Lan and once had a dog called Scruffy.......... Scruffy Bag.... Don't think I'd get bookings.

Although first street was Faiffield and dog was Scamp... Scamp Fairfield, not really DJ material.
