Yeah we have only just got rid of the candles due to the fact we now have electicity down here now and they have replaced the gramaphone with a cd player

I think its between 2200 and 2600 denpends on what rooms they open.
I think it says on the flyer that your night is something for all tastes? How wide is that selection of music?

well last night i played comercial rnd + hip hop then a bit offunky 70s and 80s mover on to 90s dance right up to monden day dance then went to uk garage then drum and bass then back down to some more rnb and hip mainly just the classics then ended the the last hour with sing along party so a bit of everything i change the order of what i play every week and the manager gives me 100% free range of what i can play i m trying to faze out as much rnb as i can at the moment .
Oh yes mondays i just do 90s dance and wednesday i do 50% 60s 70s then 50% classic rnb.
ok,it sounds like an interesting gig and good for keeping the dj fresh!bit difficult to fall into a rut when the musics so varied. I see it was quite a high capacity does it get full? and where do you start the evenig off musically?Sorry to ask so many questions but we are looking at taking on a university gig here but on a smaller scale.
monday we only open 2 rooms and we get about a 1000 people in and i just play 90s dance all night and i start with some nice funky stuff .
wednesday we are normally at capacity by 11.30 and i start the night with some funk from the 60s 70s
friday we are normally full by 10.30 and i stary with funky house while they come in i feel this give a nic e cool feel to the club while they are getting drunk but i do not like to plan it too much.

ok,thanks for the info.sounds like the gig works well with that number of punters turning up.
Mr S.... if the uni's over there are like the uni's over here then the students will tell you exactly what they want to hear!
The uni here is smaller and on research the students are very much more indi rock orientated than they would be in the Uk,as the dance scene in norway is very much cheesy eurotrance and r n b i am trying to prepare a bit before putting in a new young dj to do the gigs. The students input so far has been pretty indifferent and not all that helpful
