I upgraded my kam mic for a Behringer UHF wireless mic...

(Behringer UL2000M UHF Radio Microphone System) (http://www.djstore.com/item/mics/behul2000m.htm)

Spent 2 hours trying to get it work on friday afternoon - after 2 hours the only signal/sound i got was
a loud hiss (The sound you get while tuning a radio station on a radio),

I followed all instructions, new batteries in the mic, all necessary power lights are on on the mics etc etc

I know this is not rocket science and i am guessing it must have a fault,

This maybe a long shot but doeas anyone else have the above mentioned mic and could advise?

Cheers

Now this might sound really simple.....

But Im going to ask anyway....

Do you have the mic set to exactly the same frequency as the receiver?
If all your getting is a hiss, it could just be off frequency.

By the way, does that come with one mic or two?
Bit puzzling if its only the one mic, as it has two aerials on the receiver?

Yes, the mic is def on the same frequency

I will give it another go today, if i don;t have any luck i will test out Behringers customer service!

The unit only comes with the 1 Mic - Good point about the 2 aerials, i will check this out.

That's perfectly normal on the professional mics. There are two aerials on the reciever as the mic sends out on two frequencies (the second is usually a pre-set step up or down from the main frequency - in the event of signal dropping/blocking/interference on one of the frequencies the receiver seamlessly swaps over to the other frequency.

Sounds to me that you have a problem the mic and Reciever are not matching up. I had this when I purchased on of my radio mic's... I returned it for another and all was fine...

The two ariel are for dual Diversity operation:
