Hmmm?
On another post (dj map) I mentioned about the possibility of the members linking to the forum, which I refered to as the 'hub'.
Lets have a brush up on an earlier idea...
It was suggested we put the djsunited web URL on our business cards, or, showed that we were members.
In addition to our own contact information, we would be (in one way or another) 1 - increasing our 'status' as professional dj's
2- increasing the chances of booking by showing a professional site (especially to those who do not have a web page)
3 - if unavailable for work, the potential client would look at the dju map and might consider booking another disco - direct.
4 - if that was the case - then perhaps members would also display their forum membership no. on the business card - to allow the client to confirm as a point of reference to the available DJ....who knows?!
Meanwhile, the 'hub' is allowing our network of some 800+ listed DJ's to share this valuable information. Perhaps, for every booking one would receive thru the 'system' - a token gesture could be forwarded to the 'hub', going towards overheads. ...who knows?!
There are a few loose ends to tie-up, as regards to the overall commitment to a new system, its pitfalls and concerns, but, the advantages, I foresee, far outweigh the current position - . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . exactly, what position!
Maybe, business cards could have a specific URL address to a specific page on the forum, that allows a viewer to access limited or extended info.
One such page would have been a DJ database - but the interest in that fell dead.
So what happens next???
Well, as I said in the previous above post "Something to do when you're really, really fedup."
If we can type into a search engine something like discodirect106 - (members name and members no.) or Spindoctordju, it could bring up a page we are all / individually listed on.
Or, maybe our 'name' with the suffix DJU added to the end of each members name.
The fact that Kazzachi's name came up from my own map page must surely indicate the power of this forums presence on the web.
I admit that the dju forum has increased my web presence.
For those that feel they don't get any internet bookings or confirmations - here must be a very affordable way of increasing your status on the web, and showing how united us DJs and entertainers really are.
There are going to be those who feel they don't need internet enquiries, or want to share work.
But, I would like to make the point, that the forum needs even more members - and interest to be held by those / existing members, to show the far wider advantages and possibilities of technology to DJ's, as well as increasing the public profile of DJ entertainers, and, last but not least, demonstraiting how united this forum should be - 500+ active members forum and not a 40 or so active members forum.
