I have have my IDEX speakers for 3 years now.
They are listed as 300 watts RMS (15" woofer) and that is what I ordered and paid for in 2005.
EN 15T is the model. The sticker on the back says 300 watts RMS
HOWEVER..
I was upgrading them today by adding Neutrik locking jacks so had to take the cones out and the woofers themselves (on both of my speakers) say they are 200 watts..part number TB1500B (8 ohms).
Can anyone look up that part....done an Internet search but no help.
I am not happy. Can Trading Standards help 3 years on...doubt it.
Anyone else want to check their IDEX speakers..?

I'm no expert, but I'm taking it they have a tweeter?
Is the tweeter rated 100 watts?
That would make 200 + 100 = 300?

Your speaker has a FP250 horn fitted for HF duties, i cant find any spec on it but i'd expect it to be able to handle 100 watts of upper mid/treble, which gives you your 300 watts.

I have a tweeter box that handles 450 watts RMS !
It does have 6 in it though.
100watts RMS doesnt sound out of the question.
I build my own speaker boxes so there are no suprises to me what is in there.

I can't remember the exact equation but your speakers are rated at 300W rms across the entire frequency range. Your amp is putting out 300W but when it goes through the crossover the frequencies are split between the woofer and tweeter, so accordingly the power is also split between the woofer and tweeter, which for most 2 way crossovers is roughty 60/40 between woofer and tweeter.
