Probably.

There was a Christmas when I did 3 shows on a Saturday.

10-12 kids party. 2-5 Pensioners dinner & party, 8-2 Charity party.

Luckily the first 2 needed little in the way of lighting and they were all between Becton & Leyton so not too distant. Lunch was in the Log Cabin just off the Green Man roundabout.

Mind you, as I recall we slept well afterwards. tongue.gif

I can't beat 3 in a row, but it's not unknown for me to do a kids' party ending at, say, 6:00, and go on to do a gig starting at 8:00. Hasn't happened recently though.

The times don't always work like this and it can't always be done but I've found clients can be surprisingly understanding as regards negitiating a slight move in start times, and can sometimes be persuaded to lose half an hour at the unimportant end of the event in return for a slight discount.

The most hectic day I had was 3 years ago on New years Eve.

When I was doing radio work in Blackpool I would do the following:

Finish my Friday night gig in Newcastle Upon Tyne at 02:00 on Saturday morning. Drive to Blackpool (2hr 30min drive), get to bed for 04:30, then be up at 09:00 for a 10:00am start on the radio :) I would finish my radio shift at 14:00 and be in my night bar gig at 20:00 til 01:00. Did this for about 6 months!

Did an all day wedding once that went from 11:00am to 18:00 then was in a bar residency at night from 20:00 to 01:00!

Done long gigs before...setup at 18.00 or so and go on until 02.30....slept at the barn that night (friends disco)!

This Weekend...disco at Bath University...setup at 18.00 and on until 01.00. Did not get to sleep until 04.00 and up again for radio work 07.30 on until 12.00!

A bit tired now although had a nap earlier.

Done two gigs in one day before (twice)

i regularly have to do a kids party or christening/communion party in the afternoon and then on to an evening party

but i've also been in the same boat as robbie had a morning kids party 9.00 - 12.00 then a summer fete 2.00 - 4.00 then a wedding reception 7.00 - 1.00
and followed the next day with a christening 12.00 - 5.00 and finally a fancy dress fundraiser 8.00 - 12.00

slept like a baby sleep1.gif sleep1.gif sleep1.gif

One I remember from several years ago (before I was married)

Friday night club gig on the Kent coast somewhere, think it was a gate, Mar or Rams lol, finished at 2 AM, broke down on the motorway on the way home, finally got home at 6-45 AM, had breakfast, went to the day job and worked 'till 5 PM. Went home, had food and sorted out troublesome car, then off to club res from 8 'till 2AM, had a very good night, so ggod in fact that I was obliged to accompany a young lady home and entertain her, got home at 9-30 on the Sunday morning and went to bed, very tired, very happy and with a pocket full of wedge tongue.gif

Hi steve how did it go at the ACE CAFE been there a few times for the rock n roll nights when my mate wildcat pete was on
Corabar Steve
Went really well, the sun shone for most of the day & I got to play loads of stuff that wouldn't get an airing at your average wedding etc.

Don't know how much was raised yet, they hadn't totalled up when I left. I expect it to be a lot though, a lot of notes & pound coins went into the tins & it was the biggest turnout so far. For those of you who use MySpace some photos are on show here http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...endID=227472635

Here's a few that aren't on MySpace, just to give you an idea.
