I have a gig in a small club/pub venue which has a small dance floor and then a kind of bar/lounge area. Does it matter if the lighting rig is facing towards the DJ ie. across the dancefloor (approx. 6M) as setting it up this way looks to be the safest and will keep the lights on the dancefloor and not annoy anyone else in the lounge area?

thanks

I suppose the main consideration is will it be safe both for the customers (possible trip hazard) and for your equipment.

The other would be how do you intend to control them?

Once you have addressed these issues then I can't see it as a problem.

As Paul has said really... How will you run cables to it and I think the trip Hazard is the big one. Dont know what the venue is like but what if Larry Lout decides to fiddle with them will you be able to get to them???
