Hi Guys

I joined this forum a couple of days ago - you will see my intro in that sub-forum.

I will be doing a one off gig on 29th Feb - its a bit of fun for friends, but as with all things in life I am taking it seriously as people will be paying to attend (albeit the main attraction will be the buffet I think).

So I have had a good look round these forums to get some tips. Lots of things already learnt (such as updating music tastes etc).

I've had a look at floorfiller tips and some playlists some of you guys have kindly put on. Very useful.

Looking for more inspiration I have changed my daily commute radio station from Radio 4(!) to Century Fm. Wow what a list of classic sing along floorfillers these guys play. Only problem is I dont have chance to write them down, but I think I can start to remember them.

Apart from looking at this site and other people's playlists, how do you get inspiration?

Cheers
Corabar Steve

Thanks for this and the Rock FM recommend.

Saturday afternoons I will be glued to the wireless (changed meaning over the years that hasn't it?)

Don't be worried about missing the tracks on Century (brilliant station btw), they seem to repeat all the tracks throughout the day LOL.

To me inspiration comes from having an okay knowledge of quite a few music genres and the experience you gain every time you gig namely the ability to look at a room and knowing what to play.

Play some chart, bit of 60's motown, bit of 70's, general cheese/floorfillers
