Dj's United > "TALKING SHOP" > Music

Professional Mobile Disco & Wedding Disco
NRG Roadshow
Hi,

After a DJ meeting (DJ Gavin Mathews was also there) and doing this at the meeting.

Name your 10 to 20 most popular songs for an average mobile disco function.

When I say average I mean a mixture of ages etc etc (so it could be a wedding, 30th Birthday or whatever)

This does not have to be your 10 most played but the 10 you think works the best etc. And they dont have to be in any order.

So what are your floorfillers (not only floorfillers, but also those that keep the dancefloor going)?

1) Pointer Sisters - Im so exited
2) Mark Ronson/Amy Wineyhouse - Valerie
3) Suga Babes - About you now
4) Reef - Place your hands
5) Salt & Peppa - Push it
6) Bryan Adams - Summer of 69
7) Bon Jovi - Livin on a prayer
8) The Tramps - Disco Inferno
9) DJ Otzi - Hey Baby
10) Blondie - Heart of Glass

16) Dexys M R - Come on Eileen
17) Billy Joel - Uptown Girl
18) Wham - Im your man
19) Kenny Loggins - Footloose

It dosnt matter if you repeat any of these in your lists, the idea is to get YOUR best floorfillers.....so maybe I can tot them up at the end and get a DJU all time greatest floorfillers list.

It's on DMC Commercial Collection 298 - it's an absolutely belting 7 mins of classic Spice Girls. No matter how much anyone tries to hate it, they can't resist singing and dancing along. Hear a short sample here:

Come to a gig of mine gav, have a few sherbets and get yo ass on my dancefloor!

DeeJayMitch - Cheers for that, I will get hold of a copy of that from somewhere, cheers.

Lots of good songs coming in on the lists, its good to be reminded of great classics like these that we may have forgotten about.

Might be handy for all of us to download the list Im going to compile and keep a copy with our disco gear, just for those reminders when we are struggling for inspiration.

This is a good posting because it's a nice check list.

Thought I'd add a list too, but decided that I'd first leave out any that had appeared above and see what were the best of the rest (no point in repeating, is there?).

No mate, I think you missed the point of the list....

The idea is to list YOUR own personal top ten, the song which you think work best at discos with a mixed age crowd......it dont matter if you repeat what others have said because the idea is for me to tot these up after a few weeks and compile the DJU Top Ten.....

So your basically registering another vote if you mention somthing that others have already mentioned.....then when I compile the list I will show how many votes the song received.....

Sorry maybe I didnt make that clear that was the idea.

Oh yea.....theirs no problem with listing more than 10 if you really really want too rolleyes.gif

I have also been running this on another forum, so I will be compiling the lists from both forums and posting the results, its gotta run for a while yet as theirs lots of members who aint put a list up yet biggrin.gif
