I've noticed quite a few of you list the Time Warp on your playlists. I've never played it, and must admit if I've ever mentioned it to anyone they look at me blankly. There again, I get that kind of look most of the time anyway. What sort of crowd, would like and know this song? I have to admit that before I joined this board I'd never heard it!!

I only play it if im asked to as it seems to be the less know dance moves compared to Macarena, Cha Cha Slide ect.
Although the kids know how to do the dance moves....must be just us dumb adults that dont

Ive played it and its still popularish
but like others I play the original Rocky Horror version, but I cut it down a bit as its a bit long.
I thought the whole point of dances like cha cha slide and timewarp was coz thier easy coz they tell you the moves to make, how can anyone not know the moves to it......
I still cant do the macarena or Las Ketchup though LOL

I play the Time Warp, and yes, its the original London cast version, not that terrible Damien version..
After all, how else am I going to be able to slip into my stockings and suspenders infront of 200 poeple ???
It's probably the 3rd or 4th most popular "actions" song that appeals to wide ages ranges...the higher ones being YMCA, Rowing boat song, and maybe Rocking All Over the World.

99 percent of the time you will get a great reaction over here when you play Time Warp (The Original)
Always play most party events, most of the time it will get requested anyway.
Have never once played Cha Cha Slide and never had it requested.
It's just not really known over here and I like to keep it that way.

Play it at most of the teen parties I do, but I play the Damien version. I must admit, it's one of my favourites.
I requested it at my wedding (now how sad is that?) Me in my wedding gown, doing the TimeWarp, what a sight that was.

I play it quite often, usually with YMCA, Oops Upside etc.
Like others, I only play the Richard O'Sullivan London cast original though.

I have an 18th birthday party tomorrow night. The girl has asked for lots of cheese as well as chart stuff. So would her age group know the song? My 13 year old daughter has never heard of it.

LLCoolJoe - Yea Im sure the 18 year olds would know the timewarp, I think the Damien Version may be more popular and well known with this age group though.

So how come nobody seems to know the correct moves then?
Watch the film after you've played it at a gig & you'll see what I mean.

Maybe a lot of people either haven't seen it ............. or weren't watching properly.
Mind you, I have never met an audience yet who had no idea of it, especially when requested.

Methinks you and I move in similar circles....
Being serious I prefer the Stock Aitken Waterman version (Damien).
In fact it's one of the test tunes I use for soak testing amplifiers.

And let's face it - if an amp can stand that, it'll stand anything...

Play it frequently and also heavily requested.
It's one of those 'must' have' tracks.
Like all party tunes, you must judge when the best time to play it is.

I play it, usually with the other "mad ½ hour" tunes, and only the original cast version with that
Gilbert O Sullivan erm
Richard O Sullivan erm Richard O'Brien bloke
However, not only do I play it, but I also get up and dance to it if I go to a "do" and the DJ puts it on.
Ha! No shame in some people eh?
