Hello guys , anyone out there use an active crossover (1 of the Behringer Super X types in particular).

If so , how easy are they to use and set up, basically I have a set of meaty bins and use Mackie 15s passive for my tops. At present if I need to use the bins I hook them up to the mackies via the dedicated out from the subs but feel the mackies are being held back because of this.

I have fancied an active crossover for a while now but have been put off on numerous occasions on viewing the instruction manuals of the various manufacturers purely because its something i've never used before.

So if anyone could shed a little light I would be very much obliged.
I know the crossover splits the bandwiths but is it as simple as pumping purely low to the subs and the rest to the tops. Do you as with a normal mixer to amp setup have stereo outs to the crossover, I really can't get my head around it.

Please help a frustrated man out here lads, thanks again.

Should be easy to use. The output from the mixer goes to the crossover.
From the crossover, the high/mid frequencies go to one amp and the low (bass) go to another amp.

Set the crossover frequency to 120hz then twiddle the knobs for the best sound (adjust frequency up or down).
