Hi, first for all the general info your in the right place, but for "in depth" chat on mixing try I-DJ Magazine, they also have a forum on there web site. Most of the guys their are club or wanna be club DJ's.
{This was a nice big advert for other outlets so it has been removed by Admin}
Hope this helps

Chris I find this really unfair that he can't even link me to guides. Why is this chris? I just want to learn and you are taking away that. I got the link already luckly.

It's called rules.
Basically, the existance of this forum is paid for by my business, which is selling Sound & Lighting equipment. Unlike many of the other forums around I don't have several banners, or endless pop ups which greet you when you arrive.
If I were to link to other places which are in direct competition to me then it would be free advertising for them and economic suicide for me. Should I lose business in this way, then I would stop making money and ultimately the forum would be closed.
What you are asking me to allow, is equivalent to you running a website advertising your disco, and then placing a large ad for a guy in the same town as you on your site. Put in this way - you wouldn't allow it, and neither do I.
Why should I advertise other companies?, why not go and see how many of them advertise this forum?, then decide what is unfair.
Secondly, links are often exchanged, yet should you go to the forum that was mentioned and place a link back to this forum, then it would be removed. I don't see why I should link to them if they will not allow linking back to us.
Traffic is brought to this forum by my own website, and on a cost per click basis. Basically I pay for every visitor who arrives. So far, along with additonal database space and bandwidth usage maintaining this Forum costs me around £230 ($400) a Month, I am not willing to pay this in order for you to advertise my competitors and basically risk putting me out of business.
So far this forum is free to join., and to get advice. Other forums are membership only or would charge you a membership fee, or have endless banners to provide revenue to keep them going. I have found some around the 'net which even charge premium rate telephone charges to give technical or start up advice!. In order to survive and grow to be a success, this forum needs your support, and that support starts with posting within the rules.

I have to agree with Chris. This is his business after all and we have no right to interfere with how he runs it. He has to make a living after all, just like the rest of us.
this is the 1st time i've posted, buit I have been visiting for the last couple of weeks and reading the various posts. Nobody can deny that Chris, and a few other members do spend a lot of time answering questions and explaining in great detail to the questions that other people put to them.
I am a member of two other international forums, but it is nice to see a popular uk based forum doing well, and I for one would hate to see it go.
To quote a post from another forum - Don't knock the mods, they are here for a reason.
Chris - keep up the good work, i'll be visiting more often and please don't let a few spoil it for the rest of us.

The two links he took away where the ones Tom took away. I don't really see any competition because those sites sell turntables or records which Chris doesn't. I will ask Chris on this when I see him online.
