Hi

Hmmm what a list!

Ok, it's about time we had a novelty song at xmas, so it'll be 4 poofs and a piano, aside from that, blue and Stevie Wonder stand a chance, and Darkness as outsiders.

Darren
kazzachi
its already decided! Nobody believes that its actually the cd buying public that determines what hits number one anymore do they!
Chrispy
Well, its face it, looking at the list it's got to be Cliff Richard hasn't it. rolleyes.gif Unless another boy or girl band come crawling out of the woodwork and dazzle everybody with their colgate smiles and woo the CD buying masses tongue.gif .

Maybe the SClub Toddlers or the Spice Girl Embryo's will have the Xmas no 1 this year?. Or Posh & Becks doing Fairytale of New York?, since Kirsty McColl kicked the bucket at least there is no fear of another mind numbing duet with her and the pogues.

I still think that Karen and Paula would make a great 2003 version of Bananarama - they could re-release "I heard a rumour" instead of starting them nono.gif . The only problem with this idea is that Gary, Andy and Ian would consider themselves to be the new Fun Boy 3 scared.gif

Better still lets all get together and re-release "There is no-one quite like Grandma" - this modern version could be called "There is nothing quite like Kazz -aaaaa" (to identify with todays young people) which would = lots of sales and obscene amounts of money and we could all move abroad to a tax haven of Ian's choosing and wait to be hunted down by the Lawyers of St Winifreds School choir.
Dj_Kray
what about who ever wins pop idol! but out of that list with out listening to the songs i would say justin timberlake or the darkness and yes kazz im sure it already has been decided i really would like the way the charts work changed.
mikeee
Gotta be Kylie.....or Blue.........or Rachael (slap slap) Stevens......or, oh I give up.

Lets hope its a good novelty record, or a good dance record...not some dreary drudgy tune that could have made it to number one at any time of the year.

I'm afraid so, it's on the October pro disc from Mastermix. Why can't they leave classic tracks such as this and use some other song thumbdown.gif
Smooth Criminal Ross
It's always horrid at this time, when any1 is dying for that Crimbo spot.

Cheeky Girls, missed out last yr, maybe this year, hope not.

But if Bob the Builder can do it?

I seriously hope someone decent gets it, i think the Pop idols will get it, but i dont think they are decent, a John Lennon Classic, and they are re-doing it, hmm.

Oh well.
The Spindoctor

Given that previous Christmas Number ones, have either looked, or sounded like the lead singer ought to be dressed in a 6ft green chicken suit, and that the lyrics should be awful, are we sure that this years Christmas number one hasnt already been released, in the form of Fatman Scoop: Be faithful.

Lets make a DJU christmas number one... someone loop up the first 4 seconds of a Chic song, and Chris, you can do the shouting though a mic channel going into the red...

This songs getting the "30 second rule" being applied to it at gigs, over the last month (EG: If no-one dances in the first 30 seconds, we're moving on to the next tune). Only a few people requesting it are prepared to commit their feet to it.

As for peoples desire to request certain songs by using the same mentality as looking up smutty words in school dictionaries, I wonder if "Summer of 69" (either version, theres very little difference) would be/have been so popular had it been called "Summer of 68" or "Summer of 70"..?

thought of what?

I merely, innocently meant that if you change a key lyric in the song, then alot of the other lyrics would have to change too, eg: Anything that doesnt rhyme with "eight" or "Seventy", that used to rhyme with "nine".

Cough...err...yeah right... rolleyes.gif
