Which is the one to play, so many slow ones, I've chosen a punky up beat one by
Die Roten Rosen
What do you use?

You taking the night off too?!
I play a traditional version I found on a Christmas CD - no idea who it's by - multiple artists.
Does the job though, and I slip it in soon after the Big Ben chimes (Not the other bells.), as if you leave it too late the crowd start singing it anyhow.

I have always used the Chas & Dave version, I think it's the best one. I normally follow it with the very predictable 'New Years Day' by U2.

I tend to do the bells, then the one on Mastermixs New Years Eve CD, and then i cut into Chas & Daves version.
Chas & Daves is so upbeat. And being that im in Essex with Londoners and cockneys its a great choice!

Gay Gordon made a dancey cheesy version which is pretty good, has bell chimes and everything. It has all the vocals in it too but they don't come in till about 20 seconds or so and people might start singing before the words come in then have to start again when they do.

The DMC club Christmas CD Comp' No 4 has Big Ben and a few versions of Auld Lang... + a version by Slade, which is my choice, but I will search for the Chas and Dave version. Also, have you noticed how C&D use an 'inbuilt' Media player on some of their CD's? The bloody spoil sports, who me? Copying tracks from CD's? Never...

Using wavepad, which has a fantastic mix button on it and is free for a trial download, I've put together a 70's mix using Mastermix New year mix , Slade- Auld lang Syne/ never walk alone and various utilities tracks there of with several 70's tunes. Yes I am doing a 70's night that night! Should leave me hands free for lots of snogs!
