Ever watched Ready Steady Cook where each Chef are given a pile of obscure ingredients that they have to cook a meal out of?

At the moment I know how the Chefs must feel! Just received the following playlist and also another email asking for a few more Elvis Presley and Joe Loss tracks - and also asks if I can insert the Dam Busters theme in as well. How does Busted fit in with this lot I wonder?

I can't see any problems there Tony. Something for everyone (other than the most out & out R&B & Dance heads).

I wish more of my gigs were like that.

Look up JJ Allstars for a good ska version of Dambusters

Looks a good playlist to me

Looks good to me. Matter of fact I think it's one of my playlists. tongue.gif

Just needs a little jiggling about to give continuity.

Is it a wedding anniversary?

No, its a surprise 50th birthday party. The daughter organising it was at a disco I done for one of her friends a couple of months ago and when I spoke to her I said if she lets me have details of 10 to 12 must have tracks beforehand so I can make sure I had them on the night. I didn't expect a list for the whole evening, that little lot is over 3 hours worth so with a 8pm start and 11.30 finish, doesn't leave a lot of flexibility for requests etc. To me there are to many tracks by the same artists, not enough variety and I don't like having a preorganised list for the whole night. Might as well set up a playlist on the laptop and sit back while it plays. Might even use an Ipod tongue.gif

They have asked for:

I only have eyes for you
Cant help falling in love
singing in the rain

I was thinking of saying I haven't got them and would the stripper do. (Un)fortunately I have plenty of that sort of stuff from when I used to do parties for my parents Derby & Jones clubs.

The additional Elvis tracks are Return to Sender and A Little Less Conversation.

Tonight was the function for the above play list and I hardly played any of it. Average age was about 65 and for most of the night played ballroom music. Put on an Abba track - Super Trouper and was asked to turn it down and go back to the ballroom stuff. Plenty up shuffling around the floor. Managed to get them doing a bit of 60's rock and roll but it all looked a bit slow motion and didn't want to do too much in case one of them put a joint out.

Most popular track of the night was Lady in Red. A couple mentioned how they loved it when they came over and thanked me for the "lovely music" at the end of the night. It really wasn't a disco and my roadie sat on the floor bored brainless playing games on his phone for most of the night.
