I seem to be getting a great many 80's and 90's discos to do, which is fine but at the last one I was asked to play a great deal of songs like:

No Limit 3:15 2 Unlimited
Theme From S-Express 3:54 S'Express
I Luv You Baby 3:31 ORiginal
Finally 3:43 Ce Ce Peniston T
Jump 3:16 Kris Kross
Two Can Play That Game 3:32 Bobby Brown
What Is Love 3:57 Haddaway
Free 4:48 Ultra Naté

And I don't think they went down that well really. I was wondering at the next one to put on more stuff like Rick Astley and maybe some Jason Donovan. I just wondered how well he's received. I played "Especially For You" with Kylie and everyone loved it.

Any thoughts on Jason and the Stock, Aitken and Waterman stuff?

Go for it. I throw Too Many Broken Hearts into my set from time to time. All depends on the crowd of course but here's the dirty little secret - EVERYONE LIKES CHEESY MUSIC!. the problem is that they are ashamed to publicly admit it. But if you can create an environment where people can see that it's OK to just let go and actually enjoy themselves, most will join in.

If there's lots of thirty something girls on the dancefloor then Jason Donovan's 'Too Many Broken Hearts' goes down quite well, along with Chesney Hawkes, but it has to be the right audience.

Interesting that you mention, met Mr Waterman once. Very focused guy. Or was it Dennis? Anyway, he was very polite.
Like all requests, would use discretion. It's not likely to go down well during a totally filthy house set for sure....but saying that, dropping a Shakin' Stevens track in a middle of a set has worked for those established name jocks so for mobile work, ANY such requested tracks could be played for sure.
Although not high on my 'stuck for a track...I'll play this list', have played the 'When you come back to me' which went down a storm at a function (requested).

Generally I would go for the popular ones:

Banannarama - Love in the first degree & Venus
Sinitta - Right back where we started from
Donna Summer -This Time I know it's for real
