hi all,

do you have a pet cringe record, i mean one that really makes you reach for the off button on the radio.
with me its dexys midnite runners and come on eileen, for me i think its one of those records that was just
overplayed at the time of its release.

the second thing that gets my goat when listening to the local radio is when then stick to a very limited playlist
for example lets say hot chocolate, you sexy thing ,or, so you win again. you would think that they at least could choose other songs from the same artist. mind you this is not the only group that gets this treatment.

or is just me... sad.gif
High Fidelity
For me, the one record I can't stand is Chesney Hawkes - I Am The One & Only yucky.gif

It usually works well, but I only play it if requested.

When my Son's doing a set, he takes great delight in playing it because he knows I hate it. wallbash.gif

Any songs where the artist can't sing. And there are too many to mention.

Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder - Together In Electric Dreams, where he strains to hit the right notes. Painful.

More than cringe, some songs just bore me to death sleep1.gif

I remember driving from "down 'ere" to Newcastle, when (then) new radio station Atlantic 252 started up on long wave.

During that 7 hour journey, I think we only heard about 10 different tracks...again and again and again...

Black box - ride on time
Richard Marx - Right here waiting for you
Martika - I feel the earth move

And just a few others...arghhhh..

In terms of a paticular track which makes me cringe... KC & The Sunshine Band - Give it up.

Certainly the synths at the beginning of the track make me cringe, and the rest o the track just reminds me of someone repeatedly dropping a drum kit...grrr.

Just about anything by Jennifer Lopez or Mariah Carey (with the possible exception of the cristmas track) but the one that really does make me cringe is YMCA.

It's not a bad song it's just that when you've played it just about every weekend for over 10 years you get a little fed up with it.
milhouse
Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls
Anything by Mika
deejaymitch
I wish that I Will Survive and Angels could be banned from all karaoke
jamesmurphy
Lady in Red - Chris De Burgh
Everything I do - Bryan Adams
cmj
Shakira - Hips Don't Lie, Her voice just goes right thru me.

Totally off topic, I cringe and can't stand the woman in the M+S adverts, you know, "This isnt food, this is M+S food." Instant mute button moment every time.
old soul
Jeff Beck - Hi Ho Silver Lining, I really really really hate it.
Andy Westcott
Anything by Gnarls Barkley. Hideous rubbish.

Also, I really dislike the Grease Megamix. I'd much rather play the original tracks in full, but people still request the megamix - maybe it's simple to request?

Up until a short while ago I didn't even have this track, but it appeared on a compilation so I felt compelled to index it - not happy.
deejaymitch
Dancing In The Dark - Mickey Modelle. A terrible song that I had to play at least once a night for well over a year. (He's local so it was really big in NI for ages)
eazy
cant stand eminem his constant wingy voice moaning about everything really depresses me
