Is anyone else having problems with the accuracy of this. I did all my collection in one go a few days ago and some of the BPM's came out at 200. I thought that they might have accidentally doubled up and it was really 100bpm but some just didn't seem right at all even if I halved or doubled the BPM.

I've pointed the Auto BPM counter at all the tunes that I've ripped so far and the calculated BPMs seem to be as acurate as any other auto-bpm generator - be it hardware on some dj equipment, or software.

Some tracks with unusual intros can certainly produce interesting results - for example - if a bpm calculator is set to look at the first 30 seconds of a track (then doubles the beats it counts within that time, to get a BPM) that's all fine for tracks which have a steady beat, right from the word go. eg: if there are 60 beats counted in 30 seconds, then that should be 120 bpm in 1 full minute.

But, if the track has a strange intro, perhaps like an accappella intro, or some unusual beat-less non-percussion instruments - eg: violins, flutes etc for the first 10 seconds, or 28 seconds etc, its going to throw out any other calculations for that method of bpm calculation.

Don't forget that you can always use the manual TAP button on music manager on those tracks which you feel may be incorrect - eg: those showing at 200+ bpm.

If you are unsure of certain tracks try running them through the Mixmeister bpm calculator .... http://www.mixmeister.com/download_freestuff.html It's quick, free and for what it's worth I would say it's as good as any. It might just give you a second opinion for free!

We tested our MM auto BPM against mixmeister and the results were about 98% the same.
With odd rhythmic songs, in some cases MM was closer and in others they were.
