I used to be a music snob, until I started having to buy music to play at discos. So I went from being so proud of looking at all my 2Pac, The Game, Naz, P Diddy, Jay Z cd's lined up but now next door to them I have The Osmonds Greatest Hits, The Best Of Mud and Tom Jones Greatest Hits. My partner thinks I've sold out. tongue.gif

Do you keep your own music collection separate to your dj collection? What do you consider to be the most embarrassing cd in your collection? Mine would be "Celebrations - Songs For Every Occasion" that features some of the worst renditions of songs like Happy Birthday To You, and For he's A Jolly Good Fellow.

I have The Osmonds Greatest Hits,

There are some things that you really should keep in the closet 071.gif

All my music is kept together

CD's in the slappa case
and then on an external HDD for the laptop

Don't mind if it's the birdies song of the latest chart release, it's all part of being a DJ. AS long as the punters pay me i will play anything. That includes Black Lace's greatest hits

When I started I had a very clear idea about the sort of music I was going to play. An experienced DJ told me then that I would sell out eventually, and I absolutely have. I now enjoy some of the music I used to hate, I play a lot of music that I still hate, and I will play basically anything as long as it gets a good reaction and results in me getting paid!!!!!!

Let's face it, if we only played what WE like, we would have some very annoyed customers. nono.gif

You play to the crowd to be a successful dj. My collection has some "music" I think is horrendous , but I play it because my customers request it.

If it wasn't for the jigglers I would have given up ages ago. My regulars all know that if they want song played they either have to jiggle (girls) or buy me a drink (lads). Love it!!!!!
