Hi i have recently bought a Behringer Eurolight LC2412, i planned on attatching my DMX compatible lights to it and make a great light show except that i cannot figure out how to use the controller, the guide is of no use to me at all and makes no sense. if anybody could help me then that would be great. Also as a side note i attatched my DMX Abstract galactic moons together with a pair of spin master 3's and they do not work together with the other lights. again if anybody could help this would be great. many thanks

Hi Mate,
Have same controller..... last time I saw it was gathering dust in the garage. I found the problem was that the manual expladed all the buttons but that was it. Not how to program it. Look up Mo (Blak Vinyl). He's found someone to give him some advice and teach him how to use his and he's itching to pass the onfo onto someone else.
Cheers

Your lights will not work in stand alone mode with other lights from different manufacturers unless you're VERY lucky. The DMX channels will patch completely differently from one head to the next. Additionally, some of the Abstract heads have their DMX sockets wired with pins 2 and 3 reversed so you'll need to make up a crossover cable or buy a phase reverse adaptor in order to use them in a regular DMX chain.
I think you probably need to get an understanding of how DMX works and common programming concepts before the desk will make any sense to you. Chases, cues, cue stacks, playbacks, etc are all fairly common terms used with lighting desks. Knowing what they mean will make your learning process quicker.

Whilst on the subject of the Behringer desk, it's worth noting (to prospective purchasers) that Behringer themselves don't recommend this desk for moving head or mirror scanners as its firmware is not specifically designed for them. They will work, but you'll have a bit of a fiddle doing it.
The fact they've got the warning in the manual leads me to think they've had comments on the issue.

The behringer desk is better suited for theatre applications not for effects lighting
