Well BPm is this weekend

So which DJU members are going to be there?

Anyone fancy meeting up for a coffee

Perhaps a DJU meet up?

Anyone interested?

Gary
I'll be there on both days, on the Denon stand and giving a seminar/training course.

How about we have the DJU meet-up at The Denon Stand at, say 2pm?

EdBray
I'll be there on Sunday, I've been given some VIP tickets (don't know what the difference is though). I'll visit the Denon stand at 2pm on the Sunday.

Ultimax are there, they're in the back left corner as you go in the main entrance - they've got their Trusslite system, which is really good.

If you need to see Trusslite "in action" as it were, several exhibitors are using it - including Denon, who are using a 5m x 5m Trusslite rig - so visit the Denon stand too :-)

By the way...if you like girls with reaaaallllyyy long legs....bring a camera....

My review of BPM

When i first heard about BPM, i eagerly ordered my tickets - Well worth it

Over the 2 day theres been plenty to see and do, play with equipment that one day i may add to my current rig.

On saturday, I arrived at 11am, Met up with RH Dukesy and made our way into the arena (after some ticket sales to Dan rolleyes.gif )

The first thing that caught my eye? The three STUNNING young ladies ( Jenna, Sarah and Jemma )
Stood on stilts and dressed appropriatly they handed out the BPM gig bags, Containing the usual bumpf yu get including the Official BPM brochure.

We decided to split up and pursue different areas, Dan headed towards MixMash and i headed where ever those young ladies went tongue.gif (Only joking)

I went over to see ProMobile and Eddie Short.
Ive spoken to eddie and numorous occasions and he always has time to speak to you, ProMobile, were one of many major contributors to the day, On the stand, the chance to win some bubbly and also free cd;s back copies of the magazine and all this manned by his mum and dad, Really nice people and very chatty,

After the chat i nipped over to PCDJ to see about the possible purchase of PCDJ with the KJ plugin, Sadly, No one there knew how to use the laptop and they had no MP3+G's to try so of i went to KAM

Kams, stand was one of many that stood out from the crowd, Everything on display and a full DMX light show going on complemented by there 6 smoke machines (yes i did say 6)
They had a VIP area, i managed to swindle my way in and got loaded with Corona and sat and had a play with the kit.

Just next to Kam Was Cortex, I didnt pay particular interest here, as most items demo'd i beleive were aimed at the club DJ/Scratch.

Was good to see HTFR there, Selling items with reductions for the show of upt o 30% on some items. There Vinyl area was always full of people.

Just next to HTFR the Pioneer Main Stage, OMG seeing the whole thing full, DMX lighting used to its full potential, A Massive sound system, and enough bass to shake a tail feather, It was amazing when DJ;s took to the stage.

Finally i reached DENON, Was good to see Gary there, And put a face to a name, Good to see you and the rest of the gang there, ( I half inched a pen from the stand and also i had to swop my Pioneer Lanyard for a DENON one while there but hey its all good fun)

DENON had a new bit of kit on show, PROTOTYPE and some bits missing , but it got fully explained, and its pretty good as its MIDI compatable whistling.gif

At this point i met back up with Dukesy and i found the young ladies again, So ey obilged to the photo shoot that can be seen in the pictures here, With all the smiles from the DENON gang and every passer by, the area was soon full.

While there i had a play with the DN HD2500 and was very impressed, Perhaps one day i can add that to the roadshow who knows.

Numark were opposite DENON and they showcased some amazing kit there also, Again alot aimed at the CLUB DJ , but i still had a nose round.

With all the stands there, i found alot not actually selling, Many people commented on how items are there, but none could be purchased, Which was a shame as i had a empty credit card and an empty boot to fill.

Anways, Back on tour

MixMash
All i can say is (not to sound like peter kay here) Its the Future!
Loads of stuff on offer, and offered at discount show prices, The guys there were true gents, and really nice chaps! Keep up the good work there.

I nipped over to Citronic/Skytec - wanted to see the new CDM10:4 mixer,
They had a prototype there, but couldnt play with it,
The new mixer comes with USB support and a full effects unit.

Ultimax were just next to citronic, Showcasing some of there gear, Including the Winch stands and deckstands, They to offered discounts for the show.

One stand that seemed connected with Ultimax, was JingleDownload.com
They were giving away £5 download vouchers for there site, (i havent had a look yet ) but they advertise loads of jingles/sweepers/beds etc ... worth a look, i actually walked past them several times, and got stuffed with these vouchers ooopssss whistling.gif

One company/stand i have to mention is PS Clubbers Clothing.
They supply/make clubbers clothing and also for the DJ.
So if you need shirts or corpoate wear for your business, I recommened these. i purchased a few t shirts, and a hoody (dont ask) all at resonable prices.

Zoom Karaoke stood on the corner round from PS and they showcased discs and also a new piepce of equipment The Quickey

Well to be precise AVA Quickey
A HDD based karaoke player, with a load of features,

Behringer stood with a good selection of equipment, i had a look at the mixer side of there stand, and think i know what mixer i want now.

One guy ive got to mention is MC Rebbe A nice chap (photo here) Click to view attachment
Anyways,
All in all there were loads of stands and loads of retailers there, The down side to me, Not many selling, Just seemed to be a showcase instead, Perhaps something for next year

Highlight of the Weekend? The young ladies
Lowlight? Paying £4.50 for burger and chips. (cold at that)

BPM - An Excellent show, An Excellent idea, Show your support and visit it next year,

One quick note : I couldnt believe all the freebies handed out. Ive now t about 30 lanyards, A bumbag thingy, hats pens bottle openers cd's

One thing i didnt get though was a DENON T shirt (Note to Gary)

Some great pictures Dan - It sounds like I missed a good event. When I first heard of this I wanted to attend but too late - I already had a booking for the Sat evening.

In fact if they are planning one for 2008 then I would suggest now is the time to set the date ...

Just Back, really enjoyed it, spent a lot of time in the car park doing 'dodgy' deals. Went to a couple of the Seminars really enjoyed the last one by Derek Pengelly (Derek Summers) from NADJ.

Missed the forum meet at 3pm as I was doing the last dodgy deal with NRG and by the time I got back to the Denon stand at about half past 3, there was no one left.

Would have prefered a few more lights on demo but without the bleddy noise. Scratchin' what a bleddy racket when there are about 30 bedroom jocks all trying to beat each other.

I vote next year all scratchin' tools be banned.
NRG Roadshow
LOL at Matts pic of the Tall girls.....I remember when you sent me that pic on MSN on Saturday night.......I wondered why you was kneeling down....but since I went on Sunday, it all made sense....

To Be honest the show was a big letdown for me......too many muppets attempting to scratch.....and I really cant stand it....to me its just a horible noise no better than fingernails down a blackboard....

But the bigest thing I really didnt like about the whole show was not enough retailers selling items, I went thier with a bucketload of cash wanting to fill my car up with bits I need or bits I want to upgrade.....and I came back home with most of my cash.
Cheers for the stands and lights ed.....another bargain from ebray :)
Dukesy
I thought it was a really good show actually! Very professional.

What may be forgotten is that the show invited a diversity of DJ, not just mobile!
On the other foot, I'm sure the young club DJs, bedroom DJs and all testing the 'scratch' features and latency of the variety of kit were happy to put up with all the diversity of codger mobile jocks! laugh.gif

I felt that there was something there for all the diversity of DJ! Great! thumbup.gif
I'll probably never go to PLASA again!

My only criticism was that the exhibitors did compete - ramping up the volume with 'duelling bass tones' - too loud at times!
Thank goodness that the RNID (www.rnid.org.uk) were on hand to advise and give away ear plugs. smile.gif

Didn't stop my enjoyment of pure talent from the Pioneer Centre Stage during the day. cool.gif
Choooons!

It might be worth suggesting to buy kit on the day? (there probably is a valid reason why only a few stands did)
Why not leave feedback on the BPM website?

Have to agree, it was way too loud, and trying to have a conversation with the salespeople on the stands was almost impossible. I was talking sorry shouting to the man on the Bose stand but simply gave up. The seminars were very good but again on the Saturday the speakers were struggling even with the pa to make themselves heard.
That's the negative comments done with and forgotten, now for the positive. Wicked show, very good value, fantastic selection of gear, great to see other sides of the business that I never come across in my area, Seminars were really good, (wish I could have gone to the Sunday ones), Friendly and knowledgeable staff, interesting people, pretty girls thumbup.gif (bit tall for me though), awesome chilli and chips, came back knackered, deaf and spent up. Enjoyed every minute, here's to next year - mick
