i have, manufactured by prolite/acme it has 4 heads all connected by power leads (master & 3 slaves), good for the money, but not as good as the better audio quatro from the same company.
i have a 2nd set for sale (oops sorry chris)

The Fab 4 is a simple 4 unit sound activated lighting effect, 1 Master and 3 slaves , it has no moving heads or gobo's, from what I rember when we had them a while back you only need to supply mains power to the first unit then daisy chain the rest using the supplied power leads.
They are kinda bulky each one about the same size as a crocidile light unit.

Hi
Thanks for that...I just looking for a secondary lighting rig for venue where they won't let me use the hazer, which obviously renders my intelligent lighting 80% useless.
Any other suggestions. I don't want to get to entangled with individual par can units and a dozen controllers, my philosophy is Keep it Simple.
Cheers again

can the Sunburst slave head be obtained seperately from the masters?

Better late than never:
Here's what I could find on the fab 4's apart from all "The Beatles" sites that appeared...
FAB 4
System comes with 4 units, 1 master & 3 slaves. Multi-coloured, similar to a static Viper effect. Great chasing light show, with built-in 16 Program controller. No moving parts, Linkable with cables supplied, slaves plug directly into the master.

Yep, just a set of 4 glorified Pinspots / par cans similar to the Starburst. BTW:- The chauvet units have now been discontinued

My advice is to avoid anything which uses this lamp, unless you only intend to use it now and again. Very expensive Lamp, Around 25 hours lamp life and no extended life lamp option...unless you want me to start working out dropper resistor calculations again

Indeed the lamps are dear and when they blow they can sometimes blow the triac in the master. They're also a plastic bodied effect and putting a linear lamp inside may melt the thing. Good news is that Prolight spares are quite cheap.

The Fab 4 was also sold under another brand name - Elation, as was the Audio Quattro.
The Fab 4 looks like 4 Alligators but there are no moving parts inside so the units chase, in various sequences, putting out static flat beams of various colours.
Lightweight and easy to put up and take down.
As Ian said the Audio Quattro, which has a different gobo in each of the 4 heads, which look a little like plastic Datamoons, is a better bet. It was discontinued a while ago but can still be found although the lamps are 100 watt only.

Just a thought on dj lighting lamps...i needed two the other week and my local elec wholesalers got them for me next day from the main distributer they all use (not sure who) but they tend to use national company's...they were only a fiver and branded lamps too! Woth a trip to your nearest denmans or city elc factors or whoever near you? when in need!
