Hi,

Im considering buying a pair of these speakers as im leaning more towards active speakers.

What i wanted to ask is if anyone has got any reviews on them or personal experiances having owning them

what is the sound like on these?

Do they give good lows and clear highs?

Any help and info would be appreciated

Thanks
jeffwall
think they may be discontinued now, perhapps i'm wrong

replaced by the sa1521 (Z) model

a 15 inch version of the popular srm 450

good speaker, if its like the 450?
more bass probably being 15 inch

Hi Jefwall

Thanks for your reply

Im been offered a pair of the SA 1521's and im considering buying them as it would be handy to have a pair of active speakers.

But ive heard the mackies do tend to overheat in long periods of use and then shut down due to thermal protection.

yes mackie 450's have this bad press, but alot of the bad press came from the earlier speakers, and secondly user error.....ie having the speakers tight against a wall so the heatsink cant breath, or having the rear gain knobs past 12'oclock position....

I have 2 450's and 2 1501 subs, never overheated yet from 30/40 gigs using them, and sometimes really driving them to full capacity

plus the 1521's have rcf drivers in them havent they? Good drivers i believe
