the mixer i wanted i cant get by sunday,so i will be gtiing a berhinger dsp2024p virtualizer pro.

will this give me the sound i need for vocals? ie echo reverb etc.

my current mixer has a send/ return option, do i just use those to connect to the virtualizer? and use the send switch on my mic channels to activate the effect?

Does your mixer have send and return on the indervidual mic inputs or is it just a main send and return ??

if its just the main send and return you will be adding reverb and echo to the music and the voices....

on the main,but each channel has a seperate send button. will it work this way?
or can i plug a mike into the unit via xlr and send to the mic input on the mixer?

yes each channel on that mixer can be sent and then mixed in with the master out so you should be ok..
