I have been asked to do a Glam rock session at my first wedding this weekend, i have some from sweet, t-rex, slade, mud, but was wondering what your favourite top 10 (or a few) glam rock records that you play.
One thing, i don't do any gary glitter!!.

Thanks.
Gary
I remember reading that the Gary Glitter thing was quashed as the guys that "found" the dodgy material on his hard drive, whilst it was in for repair, admitted to putting it there themselves, to make money out of the story

Anyway... offtopic.gif

Suzie Quatro: Devil Gate Drive

T-Rex: 20th Century Boy / Telegram Sam

Sweet: Blockbuster (good siren effect on some versions which you can sample over the top of other bits of the mix)

Roy Wood/Wizzard: See my baby Jive

Mud: Tiger Feet / various.

Showaddywaddy: Blue moon (blue moon, blue moon, blue moon ba ba ba baba)

Eskie
Rubettes - Sugar baby love
T-Rex - Get it on

not strictly glam but also; David Bowie-Jean genie & Elton-Crocodile rock

Is that true? I haven't heard a thing, but is so typical of the media in this country who have no qualms whatsoever about completely destroying people's lives by devoting the front page and often many more pages and driving some to suicide even, but when a few years later it turns out the allegations aren't true they'll print 3 lines in the middle of the paper somewhere nono.gif
IMO Many people in the press are far sicker than any of the people they report on, especially the red-top filth. 1106.gif
...just one reason why I NEVER buy any newspapers.

Tiger Feet- Mud
Teenage Rampage - Sweet

I havent got a top ten! Dont really like glamrock but would have to include

Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.. Come up and see me
T Rex - Hot Love
C.S
I dont have one either but Slade must be the number one. RE Gary Glitter,he served a jail sentence was freed and has now been arrested in Thailand for sexual abuse of minors according to the norwegian media.
The Spindoctor
Not forgetting Barry Blue - Dancing on a Saturday Night, Bay City Rollers - Bye Bye Baby, Glitter Band - Goodbye My Love, and there should be some Quo in there somewhere......... ok its not glam but its Damn good!

With regard to the Gary Glitter discussion, I still tend if asked to play some but voiceover it "forget the Man, remember the Music"!! With that even the most anti paedophile audiences are generally happy.

I was in my Teens during this era ( I might regret saying that) it was the best time of my life, hitched up with my missus (wer'e still together).
The Glam Rock scene was brill. I agree with any of the tracks already mentioned also Alice Cooper, early Queen, just look for anything by any of these depends how far you want to stretch the meaning of Glam rock. The whole era to me was Ace ! ROCK ON !!!!!!!!!

Havent played anything like this for a while...used to play the odd 20mins of similar tracks at a pub/camp site bar & club (was much better than it sounds!) but don't get much call for it at weddings....

From memory I played most of the above...also Robert Palmer - addicted to love (always needs pitching up a bit tho!) and David Bowie - Rebel Rebel.

Not sure if addicted to love is 'glam rock' but seemed to work quite well!
