Hi All,

Had a pre-meet for a wedding at a really nice national trust house on the 17th August. Its a all day affair supplying music for ceremony, background during meal and the obviously the evening disco.

Couple and a few of there friends attend dancing classes and are looking forward to a few ballroom songs strict tempo etc....

Now I have had some experiance with this type of event but by no means a expert (Client does know this) they have supplied a list of some songs but also said it would be quite nice to have a few modern songs that work the same way ie BBC 1's Celebrity Come Dancing.

They havent decided on a first dance yet but definatly want it to be a waltz (approx 30bpm) but like the idea of a modern song. So anyone Ideas ? point me to a good website to look at ? to then go back with a few suggestions.

So far I have come up with :- It is you (I have loved) - Dana Glover or With you I'm Born Again - Billy Preston & Syreeta.

Also can anyone recomend a good piano music cd for supplying background music during wedding breakfast again I have a few ideas but know someone on here will have either looked at this or done this before.

Really Looking forward to this particular gig as will be completly different kind of wedding to most.

Any Suggestion or Help greatly appreciated. bigstar.gif

Unfortunately I can't help with your specific music requirements. The reason for this post is, as I'm not sure how many of these 'complete days' you've done before, if you do need advice on other aspects of the ceremony/breakfast ask away.

I believe their was a CD or 2 released from the tv series strictly come dancing. I found them on E-bay when I was looking for strict tempo stuff.

Strict tempo music is fairly easy to find, check out Asda who always have a couple of cheap comps

The trick is to play these music in sets

ie two slow waltzes together, two foxtrots together etc, and announce what kind of dance you will be playing before you play the sets of music, that way the dancer know what is coming:)

Piano music, again look in your local supermarket.. or the specialist section of your local HMV....
