My set up is a 9u rack containing......

2u Denon dnd4000 cd player
3u Numark Director D2
4u Mixer Numark cm200fx

IPB Image

My problem is.... I was used to having my mixer on the bottom of my console, but due to the numark not having a recessed connection area at the back, my denon 4000 or my D2 will not mount above the mixer...only below the mixer.
This xlr/phonos/power/etc all get in the way for these units to be mounted above the mixer

Ok, no problem, will sell the mixer and get a denon 500 4u mixer which is recessed and allows any unit to be mounted above it without a space....Cool!

But the denon 500 has no mic inputs on its face, only at the back! What a stupid adea this was denon IMO!

So Any suggestions for a quality 4u mixer that has at least one xlr mic input on its face, and is recessed at the back where the cables go in?

Thanks in anticipation haha

PS....This means my numark cm200fx will be for sale soon....excellent mixer, and great effects (alexsis)

Also have a beringer vmx1000 mixer for sale too if anybody wants?
DJ Marky Marc
Put a Patch panel on the back of the flight case or a XLR socket on the side or front and use the X500...
otronics
Yep - Marky's suggestion is the best. Many DJ's etc in this situation have to use this option for aux inputs or whatever else.

Second, perhaps more pointless option (after the above one) is to get a second flightcase.

Like I said, why bother when a socket, cable and solder can do the job?

Agree with marky

Best way forward

I would be interested in this Dan, if Jeff isn't of course. What is the DJ@ offer, anyway?

Would like 50 quid plus postage for the vmx (unit is 5u)

and 100 quid plus postage for the cm200fx (unit is 4u) very good clean sounding mixer, with brill effects

postage about 15 quid per item (less if you want both i assume)

both units are used, the cm200 is newer and in better cond than the vmx, but the vmx still looks fairly new.....both working fully and with instruction manuals. vmx was my first mixer and worked well without probs, but 5u wouldnt fit into my space hence the numark purchase

Not got origional boxes though

Pm me if your intrested?

cheers

PS can you buy a xlr 1u patch panel does anybody know?

1U XLR panels are available, but a 1U blanking panel, a panel mount XLR socket, and a length of cable and a plug, or even the end cut off an old mic lead would be as cheap, as long as you have access to a drill to make the holes in it!

With a bit more effort, and a few more components, you could easily mount jack sockets, speakon connectors, a mains socket etc, so you would never have to dive inside the flight case again!

When he eventually gets around to ringing me I have got exactly that that he can have already made up. I suppose I can always swap it for some hub caps. hide.gif
