went into a shop the other day(Maplins) in a hurry and heard a track which i don't know, but sounded very good.

I think it might be called 'with this ring' or they appeared in the lyrics several times, and had a medium 'northern soul' tempo.

Any ideas?

Not Solomon king is it With She wears my ring????

Solomon King (born Allen Levy in 1932 in Lexington, Kentucky - died January 21, 2005), was a 1960's and 70's popular music singer.

MANY SENTIMENTAL songs have been written about getting married and the most popular ones, like perennial Christmas offerings, are likely to be around forever. Among them are "Our Day Will Come", "We've Only Just Begun" and "Chapel of Love", but, as a simple declaration of love, none can beat "She Wears My Ring". In 1968 Solomon King's version went into the UK Top Ten and was a hit in 40 countries.

Is it upbeat Nik? This track was Northern soul stylish. It was playable from a dance point of view, almost Motown in nature. I bit vague I know.

It could have been "With this ring" by the Platters. recorded in 1968 it was definitely a more Northern Soulish type of song.

As for 'She wears my ring', we had it played at my wedding 25 year ago!
