Been here and there...
Think I prefer it here though.
What's happened to the smilies? I used to be able to float the mouse over them to see the actual text to type - looks like I might have to enable JavaScript, which I don't want to do.
I remember some though.

Missed you all......
What did I do .... well...
Built two new steel work benches for the garage.
Sold my Marine reef fish tank.
Cleaned and polished the caravan.
De winterized the Koi and other ponds.
Built a new digital 'Dalek'
Did 6 gigs.
Fitted a new modular PSU to my Main Home PC.
and still checked DJU 4 or 5 times a day to see if it was back up yet

Quote Jimbo:
"De winterized the Koi"
Could you explain that please, to an ex-koi keeper?
(I lost my few to gill fluke before I had a chance to diagnose and treat it.)
Never had any issues here with winter... except the darned cold and rain.
Jimbo55
Mar 19 2007, 01:15 AM
For me taking my koi out of winter mode means
Removing winter surface covers from pond.
Startup surface skimmers and clean out all pond pipe work and back flush filter systems
Remove any debry from the bottom of the pond.
Switch on heaters and raise temp to 16 deg C. This is important because the koi's immune system does not kick in until 15 deg C. Bacteria and parasites start to mutiply at about 8 deg C. Raising the temp to 16 deg means the koi will fight off any problems.
Start to feed Koi on a wheatgerm based food for a few days to get the digestive system moving
Add salt to pond this will kill off many of the parasites and act as a general tonic for the Koi.
Inspect each individual fish visually.
When the koi have fed and are more active I will 'Bowl' each of them and take a scrape and check for parasites and bacteria under a microscope. The winter has been warm so expecting a few to show up but the salt should see most of the bad stuff off.
Tell new puppy many times that the pond IS NOT for swimming in and that blanket weed does not make a good house decoration
Introduce puppy to the local frog, toad and newt population.

Felt really ill, no motivation. Moped around feeling sorry for myself. Couldn't be bothered to get up in the morning. Went to see Doctor and diagnosed DJU withdrawal. Suggested a hypnosis course or I could just ride it through and go cold turkey. Tried other substitutes but not as fulfilling. Now on the road to recovery.

I went to Amsterdam last weekend...It was a real eye opener...The city was very busy day and night even 3am in the morning..We went in a lot of bars over the 4 days and never seen 1 DJ...It was all controlled by the bar staff behind the bar.
15 of us went, including Jeff Wall and it was excellent. A must for all.
And before anyone asks, no I never, (only because I was with the wife

) however I did sample the local cake and coffee.

2. You 'pulled' her but didn't leave the room ?
